Traditional Pumpkin Carving

Carma's Pumpkin

So our pumpkins are carved and ready to be lit.  Bring on Halloween.  Neighbors are starting to hang extra decorations and the kids are getting excited.  Ray and I are ready for our Candy Tax that the kids have to pay us for going trick or treating.  Milky Ways, Twix, MM's and Snickers yum.  I had better run and an extra mile or two so that I can eat a lot of candy Halloween Night.

Here are the results!!!

Cousin That Play Together Stay Together

So Makenzie and Laney are the last of the litter.  They are not shy, they get their way and they are very bossy.  They love to play together and get so excited to see each other.  They even talk on the phone to each other.  Boy are we in trouble.  Playdate at the Olsons.

The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

It's tradition that we go to a pumpkin patch somewhere and gather our pumpkins.  This year Ray's parents grew pumpkins and they were enormous.  Each grandkid got to pick out a pumpkin. They loved watching them get bigger and bigger.  Any bigger and Ray would have not been able to lift them into the car.  The kids were so excited to pick their pumpkin.
Though I think they had more fun riding around on the dollie and playing on the tramp in Grandma and Grandpa Olson's backyard.

Locks of Love

Carlee is such a sweet and kind hearted person.  This Summer she decided she wanted to cut her hair and donate it to Locks of Love.  I was so proud of her for wanting to do this.  Her hair was so long and beautiful, but this is something she wanted to do.  We had fun finishing this project and sending it off in the mail.  She plans to do this again.

Things That Break

Our first broken bone happened to Laney.  We had gone over to Parker's football pracitce for just the last 1/2 hour and before we knew it she was crying and holding her arm.  She was very brave though in spite of it all. She wore a splint for a week until they put a pink cast on.  All the cousins got to sign her cast as well as the grandpas and grandmas.  The last day or two she got it wet in the shower.  We were all glad to have it off.  We kept the cast.  We will see how it smells in 20-30 years.  Phew!!!

Football Season Comes To A Close

Parker's football season comes to a close today.  It has been a fun season though we haven't won a game.  He played tailback most of the season.  A little defense, but not to much.  He scored 3 touchdowns. The team scored 4 touchdowns all season.  The weather was great for most of the games.  Carlee and Laney just played barbies or made new friends at every game.  Plus they hit the snack shack to also keep them busy while Ray and I watched the games each week.  We have 2 weeks off till basketball starts.  Yeah for the break, but looking forward to watching a different kind of ball.

Busy: Just the way we like it!

I am finding that the busier I am the more I get accomplished.  That is just the way life is. Though life seems to going by so fast these days. How I long for all my kids to be babies again, but I just can't slow them down.  I tell my kids that we are going to start counting backwards on their birthdays.  Yet it is fun to seem them grow and start becoming little people.  Hopefully in spite of Ray and I they will turn out to be great adults contributing back to world.  So, again I start another blog to remember all the little things and fun things about my kids.   Oh, and of course a few things about Ray and I.  But not to much.
