Chatterton Heritage

Recently, my Uncle Legrande passed away.  He was honored at the Veteran's Cemetery with full honors.  I have never been to a military funeral.  They played taps and presented my Aunt Vera with an American Flag.  Uncle Legrande fought in WWII.  It was a very nice funeral.  This is all that is left of my Dad's family.  My Aunt Vera is not pictured.  But this is it.  The circle of life is a funny thing.  I think we don't ever think we will get to this point.  What a wonderful family  I have and what great examples they are to me.  I am grateful for all their service to this country. My dad's 3 older brothers served in WWII all in the Pacific Ocean.  My Uncle Merlin received a Purple Heart for his service.  He passed away a few year ago.  Uncle Gene who is pictured here has Alzheimer's and I'm not sure if he knew where he was at. What a sweet man.  He so looks and acts like my Grandpa Chatterton.  I am grateful for my heritage and love all my family. Family Is Everything.
